A full continuum of care means that our community offers a variety of services based on intensity of needs for individuals with substance use disorders. The level of care is individualized and is based on what a person needs to find their personal recovery as defined by them.
It is important to note that no two people with substance use disorders are exactly alike. Individuals who have been using drugs and alcohol for many years will have very different needs than someone whose use has only recently become problematic. Exposure to trauma, the availability of family support systems, significant medical issues (i.e. human immunodeficiency viruses HIV), Hepatitis C, homeless status and the presence of a co-occurring mental health disorders are examples of factors that can widely influence what services are needed.
